Extension

This extension project allowed us the freedom to utilise a vast array of our building skills, expertise and creative talents. 

The exposed brickwork combined with the polished concrete floor creates the perfect industrial style to compliment Manchester’s industrial past. When teamed with soft lighting, a sleek kitchen and the intricate detail on the roof beams it makes for a high end, stylish and contemporary home. 

Our client had a really clear design idea and plans in place that we could work to (certainly helped by the client’s expertise as an architect)! 

We began with an initial consultation so that we fully understood our client's vision. This meant we were able to source materials and bring in traders who share our values. 

“Luke and team did an absolutely fantastic job on our extension. Luke really listened to what we were trying to do, which was something a bit different but without it costing a lot more than a ‘normal’ extension. He’s an excellent bricklayer and we could tell he was excited to get to leave so much brick on show! From our point of view, doing a good job of the brickwork including the projecting bricks on the outside was crucial to the overall effect and we were delighted with the results. The roof design, with exposed rafters, some delicate cross-bracing, and a large rooflight on top required a similar level of skill and care. Unlike the brickwork however, for the roof Luke was doing something he hadn’t done before. He took the time to get this exactly right and demonstrated that he is an all-round craftsman! The final piece of the puzzle was in the finishing: with everything on show, the finish had to be perfect and Luke and his team really delivered. We were thrilled with the end result, it still looks fantastic a couple of years later, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Buckley Builders. ”
